Hi, I'm Shakira, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a passion for helping individuals, couples, and families find healing, clarity, and connection. I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your challenges, build on your strengths, and move toward meaningful change.
With years of experience in mental health, I've worked with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, and more.
I tailor my approach to fit your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey and you are the expert on your life.
My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Whether you're going through a difficult time or simply want to better understand yourself, I'm here to walk alongside you.

My Approch
I am a dedicated advocate for mental health, committed to eliminating the stigma associated with it.
I believe that therapy is essential during challenging life transitions, such as divorce, family or friendship breakdowns, the loss of a loved one, relocating to a new country or state, or significant changes in job or lifestyle. Therapy plays a crucial role in processing trauma and identifying a healthy path to achieving personal goals. My practice incorporates Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness. I adopt a client-centered approach, working collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and objectives.
The relationship between therapist and client is fundamental to the success of treatment. A strong and trusting bond allows the client to feel comfortable and secure in sharing their deepest thoughts and feelings. In turn, the therapist can provide emotional support and effective guidance to help the client achieve their therapeutic goals. The therapeutic relationship is a key component in the process of healing and personal growth.

Welcome to MENTAL CALM THERAPY! We're here to make accessing mental health support convenient and effective. Below are some common questions about our online counseling services in Florida.

Q: What is online counseling (telehealth)?
